Father’s Day

Dear Parents & Friends,
The modern mum and dad work together as a team to assist each other and the family. In many ways their roles are interchangeable. Some dads do as much of the house-hold chores as mums, especially when both are working.
Never has it been more important than in this current period of lockdown, to have parents working as a team and as staff, we are very grateful to have seen this happening regularly. Mum and dads have been wonderful, doing the very best they can to juggle the difficulties of supporting their kids remote learning, working themselves from home on top of the usual mountain of things they do to support the family.
This weekend, we celebrate fathers. Dads are somewhat unique. They have a special place in our hearts. Often they adopt the role of protector but some how allows you to take more risks than mum. They can cook almost anything on the BBQ. They provide great advice and teach us how to do cool things, like skateboarding, surfing and playing cricket or footy. They help build things from Lego.
Dads are funny. They introduce us to painful music, dad jokes and allow us to make fun of them. We can dress them up in tiaras and make-up and imitate their dance moves. Our dads are always up for a good laugh. Dads are great models. They often fix things around the house or attempt DYI projects (which sometimes result in mum calling a tradesman). They often teach us how to drive. They help out and do unpopular jobs like taking the rubbish bins out to the street.
Not all of us have a dad but we all need a father figure in our life. Father's Day is a day honouring fathers, brothers, uncles or any important male role model. We often forget the sacrifices and contributions our fathers and male figures have made in our lives. Father's Day gives us the opportunity to show and express our love, adoration and gratitude to these special people.
I wish all the dads out there a very special Father's Day on Sunday. I hope these deserving men are shown what special place they have in the lives of families and what a great influence they can be.
May God continue to bless you.
