Dear Parents and Carers,
Phew! What a term we’ve had. Corona Virus has certainly had a massive impact on our Term 2. We started with remote learning and then fortunately transitioned back to full-time onsite learning. Staff, students and the Principal, are certainly looking forward to a break.
Many schools have had a Staff Development Day at the end of this term to facilitate planning. We have made a conscious decision not to interrupt learning this term and instead have deferred our planning day to and have two separate Staff Development Days in Term 3. Parents please note that Friday 14th & 28th August will be student free days to allow for Parent/Student/Teacher interviews and staff development to occur.
I would also like to congratulate Mrs Jade Weaver who has been appointed to the position of acting Leader of Religious Education, Identity & Mission (K-4) for the remainder of the year replacing Ms Lisa Christensen. As such, Mrs Weaver will now be working closely with classes K-4.
Mrs Weaver’s current classes will be taught by Mrs Kylie Jeymour & Miss Grace Potts. We welcome Mrs Jeymour back from maternity leave. Prior to going on leave Kylie was a member of the College Leadership Team and her experience, particularly in teaching Stage 3 will be an asset. Mrs Jeymour will work Wednesday - Friday. Miss Potts is an English & Visual Arts trained teacher and has been working successfully as a casual teacher throughout Term 2. Miss Potts will be teaching Monday - Wednesday.
I would also like to welcome the following staff who have roles for the remainder of the 2020 academic year:
- Miss Jessica Pracy who will be replacing Mrs Maria Ramos
- Miss Ellen Lombo who will be replacing Miss Nadia Gregory
- Ms Eloise Autard who will be facilitating PPT (professional planning time) for K-4 teachers 2 days a week.
- Miss Elise Markus who will be working at the College fulltime as a casual teacher
As part of the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong Assistant Principal Performance and Development Plan Process, an Appraisal occurs for each Assistant Principal every four years of his or her contract. This provides system and community accountability that is aligned with the School and Improvement process, focusing on the Assistant Principal’s leadership achievements and strengths, as well as identify areas for growth and development and future directions.
The Appraisal will be occurring for our Assistant Principal, Mrs Melissa Vella, over the coming weeks and parents are invited to participate via a short survey. Please click or type this link to access the survey.

Surveys need to be completed before Friday, 31 July 2020.
The information you provide will be kept confidential to the Panel members who will be facilitating the Appraisal. If you are unable to access the electronic tool, hard copies of the survey will be available from College Reception.
I wish to thank you in advance for taking part in this important process which is focused on affirming Mrs Vella for the great work she does and giving her feedback to focus on continual improvement.
I also thank you for your continued strong support throughout what was a challenging, but highly successful term. I hope that your children enjoy a break from their studies and that you enjoy time together as a family. Hopefully everyone experiences good health over the student vacation period and there is a further lifting of COVID restrictions for when we return for the beginning of Term 3.
May God continue to bless you
