Premier's Respect Awards

This year, The Premier Dominic Perrottet has established the Innaugural NSW Government Respect Awards. The key characteristics of this award is about 

  • Respectful behaviour
  • Inclusiveness
  • Community-mindedness

Of course different schools all over NSW will have different ideas about what respect means for their community, but in general the award is given to the most respectful student in the community who displays:

  • Generosity
  • Courtesy
  • Fairness
  • Caring attitude
  • Inclusiveness

Last Friday, The Inaugural Premier's Respect Awards, took place with a ceremony at the AUstralian Museum. 

It with great pleasure that we announcement Hari Saravanan was the successful applicant from St Francis Catholic College. Hari was one of ten selected students from 3100 Catholic, Independent, and Public schools in the state. Hari was put forward in a pool of 100 students to be selected to form the first group of 10 recipients to be showcased in front of the Premier of NSW Dominic Perrottet and the honorable Sarah Ann Mitchell Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning. We congratulate Hari and thank him for the way he embraces our college and is an exampler of our touchstones.

Celebrity Performance
On Tuesday the 6th of December, Jamie S in Year 9 was picked out of the audience at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney to perform a song on stage with Keith Urban as part of his "The Speed Of Now" World Tour.
Jamie and Keith performed in front of a packed arena of over 20,000 people and it was an absolute dream come true for him.
Well down Jamie!!!!!

Australian National Championships

On Sunday 11th December Sebastian M in Year 3 competed in the ISKA Australian National Championships for karate which he came in 1st place for Extreme Musical Form and Synchronised Kata and 2nd place in Traditional Form and Clash Sparring.
Following the tournament circuit for the year, Sebastian is ranked number 1 in Australia for Traditional Form, Extreme Musical Form, Sword Combat, and Clash Sparring for his age group.
Great job and congratulations Sebastian!!!!

Mackillop Cricket Team
On Wednesday 30th of November and Thursday 1st of December, Myron Modi in Year 5 attended the Mackillop Cricket Trials in Wagga Wagga. Myron was trialing against other great cricketers in the Wollongong Diocese. He had an incredible trial and was successful in being selected for the Mackillop Cricket Team which means he will be playing in Bathurst next year at the Cricket Championships.
