Message from Mr Abernethy
Dear Parents & Friends,
Well to say this is not the start we wanted for Term 3 is certainly understating things! We have two beautiful new buildings, ready to go and no-one to share them with.
I would, however, sincerely thank everyone for working together to make remote learning as successful as possible. Staff has been amazing and have worked tirelessly in their attempt to ensure student learning continues and in meeting the needs of individual students. I am very proud of their work at this difficult time.
Thank you to all our parents, grandparents and family members who are assisting our students with learning remotely. I greatly appreciate the support in keeping the vast majority of our students at home. Not only is this best for their safety but the safety of other students and the staff at this stage. As a parent who experienced remote learning with a Year 12 student last year, I appreciate that this difficult. Even more so for families with young students. You will be pleased to know that late last week the State Government announced that they were going to prioritise vaccines for teachers and school staff and a great many of our team embraced the opportunity and received their first vaccine shot last weekend.
My heart goes out to families who are struggling at this difficult time. Lockdowns can be a very challenging period both in terms of finances and mental health. If known to us we will do what we can to assist. Last week families would have received a Compass alert providing support for those who need relief from school fees. If there is anything further, we can do please let your child’s teacher, year/stage coordinator, Mrs Agostino or myself know.
May God keep you in the palm of His hand.
