Year 2 and Year 8 Japanese Lesson
This term in Year 2, the students have been engaging in a study about Japan. Students have been learning about the culture, cuisine, customs and landscape in class during HSIE time. In order for Year 2 to learn more about the language, all of the Year 2 classes and the Year 8 Red Japanese class got together to participate in a Japanese language lesson.
The lesson was led by the Year 8 Red Japanese students using Slideshows they had created themselves. They taught Year 2 how to say "Hi, my name is ..." and how to count to 10 in Japanese. Year 2 loved the experience of being able to learn from the older students in the school and Year 8 enjoyed being the teachers!
