Author Visit
On Tuesday 11th May, students in K-4 attended their fortnightly Junior Years assembly. During this assembly we were accompanied by Jade Chapman, author of the newly-released children’s book ‘Understanding Oscar’.
Jade read her story to our Junior Years cohort, raising awareness of autism within our college community.
‘Oscar is a little bit different from his brothers, and has a different way of interacting with the world. Sometimes that can be hard on his brothers, but Banjo discovers that a little understanding can go a long way.’
Jade has written this book from her own experience in order to reach out and help all families with children who have additional needs, as well as wanting to highlight with one and all the importance of acceptance and inclusion.
