During the school holidays a group of students attended a debating workshop. We went back to school for an entire day to learn about debating with Miss Sultana and Mrs Spencer, and boy, did I learn a lot! For most people, Debating might just be arguing, and you're not the only one who thought that, until I joined the club for the first time. Although, it’s more than speaking, it’s proving your argument to the other team, building leadership skills, developing confidence with public speaking, working cooperatively, making friends, and so much more.

During the debating workshop we had our first practice debate and the topic was ‘that the internet brings more harm than good’. I loved the speeches, and enjoyed listening to each and every one of the speakers. Although every one of the speakers sounded BREATHTAKING, there could only be one team who won each debate. Debating is so much fun and I am so lucky to be part of the team as the publicist- we even got pizza! It’s going to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller! One debater stated “I had a lot of fun competing and just being there at school learning new things”. 
It’s going to be an absolutely remarkable year for the one and only debating club!
