Year 4 - Volume and Capacity
On Wednesday 25th of November, Year 4 learnt about Volume and Capacity in Mathematics. We discussed the words submerged and displacement. Submerged means an object that is completely under the water, and displacement is when the water rises due to the weight of an object. This helped us have a deeper understanding of Volume and Capacity.
We chose an object to submerge in the water and estimated how much the water would rise. Next, we placed the object into our calibrated measuring device and recorded the accurate amount of water in it. We also recorded how much the water had risen.
The lesson was informative and is integral for everyday life situations. Year 4 had a great time increasing their knowledge of Volume and Capacity.
