Year 9 PASS - Event Management
In class we have been learning about event management and in particular how to organise a sporting event, and how to work together as members of a team in order to achieve a set task. This is helping us to better understand the dynamics of team building and the importance of leadership skills and qualities.
On Friday 9 August, the Year Nine Physical Activity and Sport Studies (PASS) class attended the Diocese of Wollongong Primary Western Region Athletics Carnival in order to experience what we have been learning about in terms of enterprise, organisational and leadership skills in real life. Throughout the day, our class supported staff and parent helpers with the running of the carnival and each of the specific events (track a field). Assisting at the athletics carnival allowed us to experience the atmosphere and intense environment that is involved in the management of events.
Overall, we found this unique learning opportunity to be enriching and incredibly beneficial.
