YEAR 9 COMMERCE INCURSION
On Thursday the 11th of September, Year 9 Commerce students participated in an incursion designed to reinforce their understanding of the topics “Promoting and Selling” and “Running a Business”. This incursion was led by the company, ‘Wheely Gourmet’, who run a local catering and food truck business. This session provided an opportunity to observe how commercial concepts are applied in a real-world business context.
"The incursion was a great learning experience as we were able to have an insight on real world business owners on how business owners function and the struggles they faced in order to operate a business effectively. Additionally being able to experience the day to day work life of someone that owns a food truck, even making milkshakes to serve our classmates, as well as enjoying one for ourselves! Overall it was an enjoyable incursion that made me learn new things such as the amount of dedication, money, and skill that requires to simply just start a business, inspiring me to consider developing my own business in the future".
