I am grateful to our families for valuing the attendance of their child at school each day. We know as educators that being in the classroom and engaging in learning is the best way for students to grow as learners. This is obviously followed up with home study and other learning experiences; but we know that our students thrive when they are at school most days, not only for their learning but also to enrich their lives socially and spiritually. Any level of attendance below 90% is concerning to us as we want the very best for each student.

Our attendance processes are grounded in the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong Attendance Policy. There is a systematic approach taken to ensuring our students are supported if they experience difficulty in regularly attending school.

Parents will receive letters when students reach concerning levels of poor attendance. This will happen even if we are aware of the situation causing the attendance issues. We are bound by CEDoW to send these letters. It is important that we maintain official records and that parents have records also.
