On Wednesday 23rd of July, the Year 9 Commerce cohort held their Market Day Stalls, as part of their assessment of the topics “Running a Business” and “Promoting and Selling”.

This assessment task provided students the opportunity to run their own small business at the College, selling a variety of savoury items, sweets and toys. Throughout Term 2, students were involved with writing a business plan and implementing their business plan on Market Day. 

Market Day provided an invaluable opportunity for students to explore their entrepreneurial skills and work in teams to apply the knowledge gained in the subject of Commerce. Through working in teams, Market Day focused on the development of 'Collaboration', a core component of New Pedagogies for Deep Learning.

As students learned about the importance of corporate social responsibility, all profits will be donated to this year's nominated charity, CatholicCare. We are pleased to announce that over $2000 in profits will be donated to assist families in the Wollongong area.
