HSIE Excursion to the Chau Chak Wing Museum
Year 11 Ancient History
“It was a great learning experience, and I got to be in my element and discover that I want to do this as a career in the future. We began with an opportunity to explore the artefacts, with the historians at the museum assisting us with real artefacts that dated back 6000 years ago. I got to hold an ancient spearhead and an animal tool. I find it so amazing that even though we have grown as a society, we still have reoccuring tools and advancements that connect us through the ages. After this, we were able to have a tour of the museum. We got to see a lego display, and various objects from Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, and even real mummies in their sarcophagus'. My favourite part was the taxidermy area where I got to see a glass exhibit filled with beautiful birds. I had a very memorable time, and I highly recommend that you should go to the Chau Chak Wing Museum if you get the chance!"

Year 9 History Elective
"On Wednesday, 30th April 2025, Year 9 Elective History went on an excursion to the Chau Chak Wing Museum in Redfern. We have been exploring the topic of 'History, Heritage and Archaeology', with a focus on " Archaeological Sites and Sources" and "Museum Studies." This excursion has provided us with a deeper understanding on how different things were in the past compared to modern day life. We were lucky enough to be able to handle real ancient artefacts that we needed to sketch. We went through a range of different exhibits like looking at ancient human remains, urns and heaps more!"
