Youth Ministry
Term 1 has been an exciting one for Youth Ministry at SFCC. Our devoted and enthusiastic Youth Engagement Leaders have immersed themselves in faith-filled initiatives and are on track to fulfilling their roles as pilgrims of hope in this Jubilee Year.
Our weekly Bible Prayer Group sessions have had a Lenten focus this term. Each week our student presenters have taken a theme from Catholic Social Teaching, linked this to scripture, and have challenged the audience to undertake ‘mission habits’ to make a difference in their lives and the lives of those around them. The YELs have also played a fundamental role in promoting various Project Compassion initiatives around the College this term, including an Easter Jar guessing competition and a House Colour Mufti Day.
A great success has been our ‘Walk for Compassion’ initiative which has encouraged students from Kindy through to Year 12, to be active and faithful as they journey around the school in a spirit of joy and hope.
Thank you to the year groups who also participated in our Project Compassion Coin Trail. The money collected was amazing, however the collaboration and commitment demonstrated by students was by far the best part.
Overall, Term 1 has been a great success and a testament to the faith of our students at St Francis.
