Youth Engagement Leaders visit the Emmaus Centre
On Monday the 17th of February, the SFCC Youth Engagement Leaders (YELs) were privileged to go to the Emmaus Centre, Campbeltown where we were able to learn, develop and plan strategic leadership goals for 2025. This experience brought together YELs from various Macarthur schools within the Wollongong Diocese, fostering meaningful connections and an expression of our Christian faith. The theme presented and established by Pope Francis is to journey on as ‘pilgrims of hope’, which encourages us to reflect on what it means to be ‘bearers of Christ’s love’ in our communities, and the importance of developing ‘atomic habits’ to make a difference in the lives of others. This theme was further explored throughout the day as the YELs from different schools interacted to share their ideas and initiatives that had already positively impacted our communities. Through this discussion, we gained valuable insight into possible initiatives that we could implement at SFCC this year, to serve others and promote our faith. By brainstorming, we were able to develop strategic goals to enrich the spiritual life of our school. We will keep the community updated as these goals and ideas come to fruition. Overall it was an inspiring day and we can’t wait to live out our faith as pilgrims of hope in 2025.
