Message from College Principal Mr McMahon

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

I would like to congratulate all of the students involved in last Saturday’s First Holy Communion Masses at Mary Mother of the Church Catholic Parish, Macquarie Fields.

53 communicants in total were present, with a number of them being our students (having completed the preparation programme at St. Francis).

I know Father Bosco Son was very thankful for our College’s involvement and very proud of the young people who presented on the day.

I would like to thank Mrs Mediati, Mrs Crescini and all of our staff involved in the 6 weeks long programme and who were present during the two masses. I would also like to thank and congratulate our students who have now received this very important sacrament.

HSC RESULTS & RELEASE OF ATAR RESULTS

This year, Thursday, 14th December, will be a big day for our Year 12 cohort of 2023.

  • HSC results will be released at 6 am. These results will be delivered to students via email and text.
  • ATAR results will then be released three hours after this at 9 am.
  • At 10.30 am HSC students will then be invited back for a Celebration Morning Tea to recognise the formal end of study of our Year 12s and to commend each other on various HSC achievements. The Morning Tea will be held near our College Hall. A final reminder about the Morning Tea will be sent out next week.

We wish our Year 12 cohort of 2023 all the best, and we are very excited to hear about the wonderful things they will be doing in their immediate futures.

MISA SUCCESS!

I would like to congratulate our Year 8 MISA Debating team and our Years 7 to 9 MISA Indoor Cricket team who both competed in their finals on Tuesday.

Both teams faced tough opposition, and both events had very close outcomes.

I’m delighted to say that both teams ended up eventual winners!!!

Our indoor cricketers, scored the winning run on the last ball of the game and our debaters sneaked home with a very strong team line.

I congratulate all of the players / team members and I thank Ms Sultana for her fabulous efforts with the debating team and Miss Flegg for her wonderful efforts with the indoor cricket side.

We look forward to even more success in MISA competitions in the years ahead.

SPEED CAREERING

I commend our Year 9s who, on Thursday this week, were involved in a very worthwhile opportunity exploring future career paths. A large number of rofessionals and industry experts volunteered their time en masse to speak in small groups with all of our Year 9 students.

An array of future career parts, and vocational options were on hand as our students listened, asked questions and engaged with the content.

It is a wonderful time in their lives for students at this age to explore future career paths which may hold the key to their futures. I would like to thank our incredible industry volunteers, our Year 9 coordinators, the teachers present, and especially Ms Lyons for organising such a worthwhile event. I trust this opportunity will have a lasting impact on our students.

END OF YEAR EVENTS

There is a broad range of events and exciting occurrences coming up in the next fortnight and I am very excited about upcoming concerts, showcases, awards and our end of year mass.

Please take careful note of Compass notifications in the coming days and week/s.
