Golf Tournament - Luchio K

On Monday 7/8/23, my sister and I went to a golf competition to represent our school for the Mackillop region for Catholic School Sports. It was at Blackheath Golf Club in the Blue Mountains. It was a challenging course which was very hilly. When we first arrived, it was only about 4 degrees!! Even though it was hilly and sometimes I couldn’t see the green, I somehow managed to complete all the holes. It was a great experience for me as it was the first time I played 18 holes in a competitive setting. I would say I played ok, but not as well as I expected.

The best part of it was that I got to play with other competitive golfers around my age. Unfortunately, I didn’t get into the Mackillop golf team and I felt a little disappointed in myself that I didn’t shoot the score I wanted.

On the other hand my sister played 9 holes, and she played at a higher quality than I expected. A good thing was that my sister got to make new friends and played a proper 9 holes for the first time! I still feel good that I challenged myself and that I got to experience the golf tournament at a high level. Lastly, if I had the choice to do it again I would definitely play it again as it helps me improve my skills and get some tips from my golf peers.

I would like to thank the school and my family as they have supported and encouraged me to do better as well as be given the opportunity to play a full golf course.
